About Klair

A place for the things we can share, and the people we can help nearby.

Last updated September 7, 2026

I have been thinking about how to put this into words for a very long time, but every time I sit down to write, I can never get it quite right. So here are some of my thoughts, unfiltered, raw and authentic.

  1. 1. Why I am building Klair

For a long time I have had an idea I really wanted to bring into the world. An idea I always believed would bring a lot of good, especially today, when climate change and overconsumption are so prevalent. The sharing economy has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, but mostly in specific categories like cars, bikes and houses. I have always imagined a world where everything could be shared. The tool you need once, the tent you need for a holiday, and of course the books you have already read. Why is there no place that combines it all: renting, trading and giving away? Why is there no place where you can rent something for a short while instead of buying it brand new? Why does everyone need to own the same tool/machine that then sits in the garage for a year? Why do we always have to buy new?

  2. 2. A place for helping each other

So I am building that place. A platform for individuals and small communities, where people help each other out by renting things, trading things, or simply giving away what they no longer need.

  3. 3. One city at a time

This only works if there are people near you. That is why I am starting with a few cities and expanding slowly, hopefully to more countries later. The first version is live at klair.com. Tell me your city on Discord and I will add it.

  4. 4. Still early

It is still early, so a lot is still undecided and small things are missing. But it is starting to look like an early version that can actually be tested. It would mean a lot to me if some of you posted your things on it, so I can adjust, remove and improve whatever needs improving, based on your feedback and on the stories of people using it.

  5. 5. Built together

I want this built together with the people using it. Whenever there is an important decision, I will bring it to you and let you vote. I really want this to become a place where thousands of strangers help each other, and I believe the way there is to start with a few people who love it. So please reach out to me on Discord, and I will do what I can to make it perfect for you or your community.
