Privacy first, and honest about the rest.
I want to be as transparent as I can, so the first thing to talk about is privacy. It is what I look at first when I try a new app, so it should be first here too.
1. Anonymous by choice
I thought a lot about how to handle privacy here, and I landed on something close to the older internet. A profile does not need your real name, your location or any personal information at all. You can add more if you want people to feel safer with your shop, but nothing is required. Try Klair without giving anything away, and decide later how visible you want to be. Choice is good, so it stays that way.
2. How it works in practice
The handover flow lets two people meet and confirm an exchange without exchanging personal details. You can set your location to a park or another public spot, so the person you have not met yet never needs your home address or your full name. Your name can only be changed once, so a profile keeps its history and its reputation. Reviews come only from reservations that actually happened. The human contact stays. The personal data does not have to.
3. Transparency
All software has bugs, and if someone tells you theirs has none, run. Klair is new, and new software always has rough edges. I build software for a living, and I will keep fixing and simplifying this one. The code you do not write has no bugs, so what nobody uses will be removed, and what people love will grow. Everyone should be able to understand Klair.
4. What Klair does not do
Klair does not insure anything and does not guarantee what is listed. The agreement is always between you and the other person. What I give you are the tools around it: documented handovers, honest reviews and support that steps in when something goes wrong.
